After collecting translations of the word “hello” in a variety of languages, each greeting was transformed into a unique linear visual composition and then translated into a musical score. The project explored the relationship between language, sound, and visual communication, questioning how a simple greeting could be experienced without relying on written language. By removing the visual and linguistic meaning of the word, the focus shifted towards its rhythm, tone, structure, and musical qualities. The resulting compositions offered a new way of experiencing “hello” through sound alone, transforming familiar words into abstract visual and auditory forms.
